One of South African’s largest investment, savings, insurance and banking group is looking for a highly proficient Business Intelligence Manager who is technically-savvy and a data-driven storyteller. This work will span a wide range of data, systems, and technology, while being part of a team of talented individual contributors with a diverse set of skills across analytics, data engineering partnering together to improve how information is leveraged for analytics and decision making.
Responsibilities:
- Design, build and deploy BI solutions (e.g. data warehousing models)
- Collaborate with teams to integrate systems.
- Create visualizations and reports for requested projects.
- Validate data in databases and test solutions developed.
- Create specifications for the reports to be developed in order to support Business decision-making.
- Develop and deliver advanced statistical and mathematical models to support insights
- Extensive experience in data visualization and insight communication.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive tools and strategies that allow raw data to be transformed into business insights.
- Finding opportunities to improve product offering to contribute positively to the organisation.
- Substantial experience working with various data mining techniques and database structures.
- Extensive experience in partnering with key stakeholders to understand their key business questions, and delivering analytic self-service solutions to exceed their expectations
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors in computer science or informatics or similar
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate in Business Intelligence Development/Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert/ Microsoft Certified Azure Data Engineer (advantageous)
- Background in data warehouse design (e.g., dimensional modelling) and data mining
- In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework.
- Short-term insurance experience (Advantageous)
- Experience within Finance insurance-advantageous
- 7+ years of BI development
- Power BI
- DAX
- Microsoft SQL, T-SQL
- SSRS, SSIS, SSAS
