An international client is seeking a hands-on Lead Data Engineer to join a growing Engineering team. This is a high-impact role where you’ll shape and scale our data platform to power strategic initiatives across the business. Reporting directly to the CTO, you’ll collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to unlock data-driven insights that fuel decision-making and innovation. As one of the early hires in the platform team, you’ll work closely with our Platform Engineer and Head of Engineering to build the foundations of a robust, scalable data infrastructure.
Responsibilities:
- Work with the CTO, CRO and other stakeholders to build a data engineering strategy that enables the company to meet its ambitious goals
- Scale and build out our data platform (data lake, ingestion pipelines, BI and reporting platform capabilities)
- Deploy data and the data infrastructure to support projects such as CRM, personalisation and Martech innovations
- Act as a technical authority, sharing your experience to establish data best practices in our engineering and wider team
- Continually seek out and share ways to improve our processes, platform, and culture
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Experience and proficiency in data architecture, having architected and built:
Data warehouses
- Event driven architectures and event ingestion pipelines
- Integrations with 3rd party SaaS platforms, e.g. Salesforce, Hubspot
- Programming: Python / Typescript
- Cloud: AWS – S3, Athena, DMS, Lambda, IAM, CDK
- DWH / Data platform: Databricks, Snowflake, Redshift
- BI tools: Tableau, Metabase, Domo, Looker, QuickSight
- Big data and ETL: Spark, Glue, Airflow, DBT
- Streaming and Events: Kinesis, Kafka, Event Bridge
- Realtime visualisation: MixPanel, Segment, Amplitude, GA
