Our client based in Santon is looking  for an experienced  Lead Data Management to be part of their fast-growing team. This role requires a strategic thinker with in-depth knowledge of regulatory requirements, data quality management, and governance practices aligned with the evolving standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Information Management, Computer Science, Finance, or related fields
• A Master’s degree or professional certification (e.g., CDMP, DAMA, or similar) is advantageous
• At least 8 years’ experience in data management, data governance, or regulatory compliance within the financial services sector
• Proven experience in implementing BCBS 239 frameworks, ideally within South African financial institutions
• Strong knowledge of SARB regulatory requirements and local banking standards
• Proficiency in data governance tools such as Collibra, Informatica, or similar
• Experience with data visualisation and reporting tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, or Qlik); Solid understanding of database systems, data integration, and data warehousing technologies

Responsibilities:

• Regulatory Compliance (BCBS 239 and SARB Alignment):
• Design and implement frameworks to ensure compliance with BCBS 239 principles and local SARB regulations
• Oversee risk data aggregation and reporting processes to improve accuracy and timeliness in regulatory reporting
• Data Governance:
• Develop and enforce data governance policies, standards, and best practices.
• Establish and maintain enterprise-wide data dictionaries, metadata management, and data lineage processes
• Promote data ownership and stewardship across business units to ensure accountability
• Data Quality and Risk Management
• Define and monitor data quality standards and performance metrics.
