Essential Requirements:
- IT application integration experience (e.g. REST APIs)
- Solid Linux skill
- Basic enterprise IT network know-how including network security (firewalling)
- Container-based application virtualization experience (Docker)
- Programming skills (preferred: Python)
- ITIL processes (incident, change, problem management)
- IT Degree and/or relevant qualifications
- 5 years + commercial of experience
- Linux Administrator Certification
- Programming certification
- Basic enterprise IT network know-how including network security (firewalling)
ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS REQUIREMENTS:
- Experience with firewall rule management tools (preferred: Tufin)
- Experience with IT orchestration & automation solutions (e.g. Rundeck, Ansible)
- Skills in further programming language (e.g. JavaScript)
- Operational Management duties such as long-term planning to create initiatives that further the overall goals
- Self-starter
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong ability to understand and interpret business needs and requirements with the ability to move concepts through to proposal and finally successful implementation
- Agile Working methods (e.g. Scrum, Kanban)
- Experience in IT provider steering
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to communicate effectively (both verbally and written) with both technical and non-technical colleagues / users
- Proper release management process and procedure knowledge
- Should be willing to deal with (talk to) our customers. In most cases they will be foreign customers and language barriers might exist
- Ability to work as part of a team, inter dependant as well as independently and submit deliverables on time and in excellent quality
- Ability to handle any situation and work under pressure
Reference Number for this position is GZ57395 which is a long-term contract position paying per hour working semi remotely offering a cost to company salary of R800 per hour negotiable on experience and ability.
